Biography[]


Son of the Guilty King - this is a connection that Roland refrains to admit, and yet it is the source of the mysterious power within him.
At the orders of the Guilty King, Roland was confined to the palace from when he was a boy. With only books to keep him company, his wide reading allowed him not only to glimpse the world outside, but also accumulate knowledge and wisdom. However, beneath the surface of this seemingly peaceful life, a mysterious holy power was surging. This power, strong enough to affect the entire continent of Tolivar, eventually drove Roland to escape from his imprisonment and embark on a journey of destiny...

"If I had a choice... I would rather reject this power."


Roland had been confined to the palace for as long as he could remember. He had read about many majestic landscapes in his books, but never had he actually laid his eyes upon them.
Roland racked his brain trying to figure out a way to reach the outside world, but the heavy guards and mechanisms were nigh impenetrable. After many fruitless attempts, he could no longer tell whether he was motivated by a yearning to reach the outside world or for his father's love...


When an ancient contract shattered his hopes of escape, and when someone dear to him was cruelly executed... Roland finally began to realize that he was just a prisoner, that he belonged to this palace... and that he was bound to this Guilty King by their "father-son" bond.
He vowed never to forget this pain, this feeling of powerlessness. And one day, he would learn by himself, surpass his father, and walk proudly into the great wide world.

"That palace where I grew up wasn't really home... it was more like a well-decorated prison."


As Roland continued growing in his struggle against this cage, it was suddenly broken in a way he never expected... When he witnessed the death of the Guilty King by the sword of Emperor Ozgus, Roland, having lost his purpose, fell into a daze...
Although Roland did not intend to be drawn into a vortex of hatred... a mysterious sword of light suddenly emerged from within him and materialized before his enemy. Ever since, Roland's future has been intertwined with the strife on the continent and the fate of the world...

"I have wondered numerous times whether or not I am truly blood-related to the Guilty King... But now, I have no chance to find that out."


Longing for the chaotic free world, being pursued by his father's killers, and an unexpected encounter with a girl named Precia who idolized the fallen Guilty King... All these things caught Roland off guard.
Faced with countless crises, the faint resonance between the respective powers of Roland and Precia has brought a light of hope to them on their journey, even though they are constantly at odds. With completely different ideals, the two are forced to keep pressing forward. Whether it's doom or salvation that awaits Roland... he will find the answer with his Sword of Radiance!

INT increases by 20%. After using a skill and taking action, recovers 20% of Unit HP.
At the start of battle, gains a different form depending on class type:
If class type is [Holy], gains [Edge of Insight]: Adds 10% of INT to DEF. When initiating battle, before the battle, dispels 2 enemy buffs.
If class type is [Mage], gains [Chastising Light]: When using a skill, gains Unit Range +2. After actively attacking and dealing damage, applies 2 random debuffs to the enemy.
