Biography[]
When it comes to "Elysium", people always immediately think of the magnificent ship with its awesome firepower. Rarely, however, do they pay attention to those who control it from behind the scenes, namely Joa and Conny in the Ark Control Room. Since the time of the Gresden Empire, this teacher and student duo have worked diligently on the design, construction, and operation of the Ark. And in this time, their bond has strengthened immensely. Now, thanks to Artificial Intelligence and holographic technology, they continue to work long hours in the control room as usual. But behind this lies an accident that neither of them ever want to talk about...
"(Joa:) Inertial navigation calibrated. Determining turn speed... Standing by! (Conny:) U-Understood! Elysium is setting sail!"
In the days of the corrupt old empire, the laws of society were largely determined by the nobility. Conny, who came from a disgraced noble family, and Joa, who was an ordinary teacher, were both at odds with the opulence and extravagance of the social class that surrounded them in that college of nobles, and so were ostracized by those around them. However, they found in each other a possibility different from what society expected of them, and in the process of exploring and learning, developed a strong teacher-student relationship.
A new policy of reformation, introduced by Imperial Chancellor Florentia, changed the trajectory of their lives. And it was in the new technology division that the teacher and student were exposed to a project that they deemed worth dedicating their entire lives to - the "Elysium" project. Joa and Conny contributed their engineering knowledge and skills to its construction and execution, and eventually took up the responsibility of piloting and maintaining the Ark when The End finally came. The people on the Ark lauded them as "The Two Wings of the Ark".
"(Conny:) Joa has never let anyone down! Joa was conscientiously fulfilling his duty as Chief Control Officer of Elysium until his very last moments! The way it ended for him... was not fair at all!"
However, an unexpected turn of events tore the pair apart. The Saintess lost control of herself, causing massive damage to the Ark. Joa died in the carnage, trying to protect Conny and the control room. Attempting to alleviate the grief she felt by the loss of Joa, Conny tried everything she could to recreate Joa's appearance and personality. With the help of an algorithm provided by the central auxiliary program Omounas, Conny built an Artificial Intelligence modeled on Joa's personality, hoping to bring her teacher back to the world in some form. The Joa that was created was initially confused, but over time he ascertained a purpose through machine learning - to protect all that Joa cared about.

On the Ark, ominous shadows have begun to spread... yet things are as busy as ever in the Elysian Machine Control Room. After all the hardships that this teacher-student duo have endured, what sort of fate awaits them?
